The location just felt a little off to me, and getting to the beach wasn’t as easy as I expected. I mean, come on now, if you’re staying near the beach, you’d hope the access would be more straightforward

I booked this place because the listing looked good and sounded like what we needed. When we got there though it just didn’t really match. The photos seemed outdated and a few details were off. It was annoying because we planned our trip around what was shown online. I probably wouldn’t book from them again unless I double checked everything first.

Just a heads up to save your time: we booked a place through rentalsatthebeach.com, and it really didn’t feel clean when we arrived. The floors felt gritty, there was hair in the bathroom, and the kitchen counters were sticky, which is not what you want to deal with after traveling.
We ended up wiping things down ourselves before even unpacking. I totally understand beach rentals can have some sand here and there, but this felt like more than that. For the price and extra fees, I expected the place to at least feel fresh and ready. I wouldn’t book again

I tried booking through Oak Island Accommodations, it was frustrating. The replies were really slow, and I felt like I kept having to follow up just to get basic info. The whole booking process didn’t feel very clear either, which made me kind of uneasy about moving forward. In the end, I didn’t really trust it and wouldn’t use them again.

Check-in was smooth tbh. We got the instructions before we arrived, the door code worked right away, and we didn’t have any issues getting in, so that part was totally stress-free.

Checking out wasn’t a huge deal, but it was a bit unclear. We had to dig back through emails to figure out what to do with the trash and towels, which was kinda annoying when we were trying to leave.

Overall, nothing bad happened, just could’ve been easier. For a beach rental, it was fine, but imo the checkout steps should be more obvious and simple

It just didn’t feel worth the money for us. The place was fine, but nothing really stood out, and once the extra fees were added on it felt even more overpriced. Being near the beach, I expected it to feel a bit more special or at least more welcoming, but it had that kind of “no real person is actually behind this place” feeling. We’ve stayed in nicer rentals for less, so I’d probably look somewhere else next time
